OPTION 4: Update Your Wireless Router’s Firmware You will find the Apple TV’s MAC address by going to Settings> General> About.Ĭheck if the problem has been resolved after performing the instructions above. If your wireless router has MAC address filtering enabled, you will need to add the MAC address of your Apple TV to your router’s list. OPTION 3: Verify If the Wireless Router is Using MAC Address Filtering You may also try to temporarily disable the wireless security on the router to rule out encryption issues.Ĭheck if you are now able to connect to the Wi-Fi network. If you are using WEP, you may try using WPA or WPA2. If there are no other wireless devices connected to the router, you may try changing its wireless security. NOTE: Apple TV is not capable of connecting to Wi-Fi networks that contain high (extended) or double-byte (Unicode) characters (Japanese, Korean, and Chinese characters) in the Wi-Fi network name or password. If your Wi-Fi network requires a password to connect, make sure to enter the password correctly. OPTION 2: Verify the Wireless Security Settings on Your Router Once all possible interference have been cleared, test your connection.
